My From the Treetops Blog is where you will find philosophical essays on life in the 21st century USA, but this is for the silly stuff.
For instance, I'm just a kid when it comes to stuffed animals. I never pick one up in a store unless I intend to buy it, because once I pick it up, it's coming home with me. It's bizarre, I know, but I'm convinced that they have feelings and they will feel bad if I leave them on the shelf.<g>
I recently got to go to Boyd's Bear Country in Gettysburg, PA. They bill it as the "Worlds Most Humongous Teddy Bear Store." I think they're right. At least it's the biggest stuffed animal store I've ever seen. There are 2 full sales floors, a food court and restaurant, an auditorium/classroom, a museum and the most spectacular view.
If you're in the neighborhood, check it out. It's worth the trip even if you're not a Boyd's fan (though you probably will be once you leave!)
