Welcome to my library!
A library is a place for books and reading, but in my opinion, it is also a symbol of the free expression of ideas.
The blue ribbon at the corner of this page was placed there in response to the Telecom "Reform" Act of 1996, which sought to curtail that freedom under the guise of protecting the innocent.
I believe that if we give a seemingly benign government such a powerful weapon, we could also be placing it in the hands of a tyrant who might head up a future government. It is my belief that those who are entrusted with the direct care of the innocent are the ones who should protect them from all harm, not the government, so I joined those who were promoting freedom of speech on the Internet.
I received this copy of the Cyberspace Independence Declaration from an online friend. I include it here for others to read as well. Please do so, and heed the call.

Alone, by Lisa Gardner
I just finished reading "Alone" by Lisa Gardner and I highly recommend this book. It's one of the best suspense novels that I've read in a long while. It had me guessing right up to the end.
The blurb on the back cover reads: "Who can you turn to when you're at your most vulnerable?"
"State Trooper Bobby Doge watches a tense hostage standoff through the scope of his sniper rifle. Dodge has only one second to react, or a woman and her child may die."
"Where can you hide when this killer comes?"
"The woman at the other end of Bobby Dodge's rifle isn't only in trouble - she is trouble. Cool, beautiful, and dangerously sexy, Catherise Rose Gagnon's life will change in an instant of violence."
Ms Gardner draws rich, full-bodied characters, then she takes them through more plot twists and turns than a double helix. This is a fast read - you won't be able to put it down - and a great beach book!
Cant wait to read her new book, "Gone." I give "Alone" 3 1/2 bookmarks!

Eleven on Top - Janet Evanovich
I'm Currently Reading "Eleven on Top" by Janet Evanovich. It is the 11th novel in the Stephanie Plum series.
I just love this whole series. Ms Evanovich has populated these novels with a wonderful palate of characters who are definitely characters in every sense of the word. From Stephanie's grandmother who carries gun, wears sneakers and loves attending wakes at Stiva's funeral home to the transvestite rock singer who moonlights as a school bus driver and wedding planner, one is funnier than the other. These books will have you laughing out loud - trust me.
Stephanie Plum became a bounty hunter after she lost her job as a lingerie buyer. Her escapades leave her on and off boyfriend, Trenton Cop Joe Morelli shaking his head, and her other love interest, mysterious bounty hunter Ranger smiling. Each book is a rollicking good time and I highly recommend each and every one!
This whole series gets 4 bookmarks!

Library Intro
This is the first entry in the Library Blog. I'm using Movable Type to set up all these blogs that are acting as content control in many of the rooms in my virtual house.
In future entries, I'll be doing some reviews of the books I'm reading. I might chat a bit about some of my favorite authors, or the First Amendment, or just books and libraries in general.
